About Us

Every church has the responsibility to carry out the two things Jesus commanded. The first it to love God and love others. The second was to go into the world preach the gospel and make disciples.

Every church has the responsibility to pursue these two commands, but how they accomplish them is what makes the local church unique. The local church is God’s redemptive plan, and there are many shapes and sizes. At Basin Church, we seek to accomplish these commandments by a specific mission as we love and serve the community in Odessa, TX.

Pastor Joe and Sara Donaldson's journey in ministry began early. While they were in college they were jr. high leaders in their local church. Upon graduation, Joe became the junior high pastor and Sara a teacher. Over their twenty years of ministry, they have done just about everything there is to do when working at a church.

The Donaldsons met in high school and married in 2000. They have three children: Mary, Luke and Anna. In 2018, God started preparing their hearts to become senior pastors. Little did they God was planning and preparing them to move to Odessa, TX, which they absolutely love! Joe and Sara have a passion for people to find hope and freedom through the message of Jesus. They are excited to see what God has in store for Basin Church.
